About the ClubThe Central Falconry and Raptor club was established in 1988 to offer people the opportunity to embrace all aspects of Falconry in a spirit of good companionship. We offer a warm welcome to people of all ages, whether experienced Falconers, novices or families. We meet on the second Sunday of each month throughout the year at 'SPORTS CONNEXION' on the Leamington Road, near Ryton-on-Dunsmore, Coventry. Just off the A45 on the A445 towards Bubbenhall.
FalconryFalconry is an age old sport and part of our national cultural heritage. For centuries, people have persued the art of falconry using techniques honed over many generations. Falconry is the art of hunting quarry in its natural environment using a trained bird of prey. From the highlands of Scotland, to the plains of southern England, Falconers today practice their art using techniques and training methods that have been developed over Centuries. The Central Falconry and Raptor Club are happy to promote their sport and introduce our birds to the public giving everyone an insight into Falconry and a chance to meet these amazing predators close up. The club are affiliated to the Hawk Board an organisation aimed at protecting Falconry for the benefit of everyone.
The club are very active at a number of events and are regular attendees at the British Falconry Fair where we organise and provide staff for the weathering; The CLA Game Fair and many other shows throughout the summer. In 2009 we attended the Festival of Falconry, providing staff for the public weatherings as well as presenting the club stand within the UK Falconry Village. |
